About NVIS

Napa Valley Independent Studies is a K-12th grade educational setting. The school hopes to fulfill the needs of students that require an alternative to traditional schooling.  In fulfilling student needs, we encourage creative thinking through a diverse and comprehensive curriculum.  Through our collaborative team, using collective data, we will encourage each student to reach success in meeting or exceeding their proficiency of grade level standards or leaning goals as determined by their needs. We will do this by giving support, building of confidence, and creating an environment that is safe and fosters lifelong learning.

Our commitment is to create a challenging learning environment that encourages success for all students (K-12) through a standard based developed appropriate instruction that encompasses strategies for individual differences and learning styles that encompasses academic and socio-emotional aspects.   We work with partners, parents, and community to ensure that our students are reaching their potential as they become confident 21st century learners with the abilities to meet graduation requirements.
